Strength in Scripture

The Word of God is so awesome. There is nothing like it. I am going to start posting blocks of scripture under different categories. Today I am starting with the theme of strength. It says in the Word that the joy of the Lord is our strength. When we read scriptures like these below, they should bring us joy because of the fact that we are reminded about how strong and huge God is, as well as His love, care and concern that He has for us. I think that so many times we under estimate the power of the Word of God in our lives. We don't memorize it enough, speak it enough, think on it enough. Take some strength from these scriptures:

Ps 59:9-10
9 O my Strength, I watch for you;
you, O God, are my fortress, 10 my loving God.

Isa 33:2
2 O LORD, be gracious to us;
we long for you.
Be our strength every morning,
our salvation in time of distress.

Isa 41:10
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Neh 8:10
he joy of the LORD is your strength

1 Cor 10:12-13
13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Ps 84:5
5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,

Eph 6:10
be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Psalms 121:1
I lift up my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip--
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you--
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm--
he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your
coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Ps 46:1
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.

Ps 73:26
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

Prov 18:10
10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.

Ps 28:7
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.

There are so many scriptures that you can draw strength from. I hope you can use this as a launching pad to dig out more!
